Copy a Locale

This interface allows you to copy a local into a standard locale or a non-standard locale.

A standard locale is a language with data in the Unicode Common Locale Data Repository (CLDR). A non-standard locale is a language with no data in the CLDR.

Copy Locale Interface

Copy a Locale as a Standard Locale

In order to copy a standard local first select the original locale from the "Duplicate Locale" Menu. Then select "Standard Locale".

Click "Duplicate", you will then be redirected to a new interface. From here you can click on the "Click Here to Download" to download the copy in an XML Format, alternatively click on "Upload it here" to be able to edit the copies XML.

Copy a Locale as a Non-Standard Locale

In order to create a copy of a locale as a non standard format you will first need to select the original locale from the "Duplicate Locale" menu.  You will then need to select "Non standard locale".

You should then enter a name for the locale copy. This should always be prefixed with the i_ tag (i underscore) this is the standard way to identify and work with non-standard locales.

You will then need to select the options for the "Fallback Locale", "Number Formatting" and "Character Orientation" menus.

Click "Duplicate", you will then be redirected to a new interface. From here you can click on the "Click Here to Download" to download the copy in an XML Format, alternatively click on "Upload it here" to be able to edit the copies XML.
