How do I restore files or folders from backups?

In R1Soft, backups are called recovery points

Once logged into the backup system you will have a menu as below

view your recovery points

Click on "Recovery Points"

If necessary, select your server from the Server dropdown. You will then see a list of all the restore points available

list of available recovery points

To view the files in a recovery point and choose the files and folders you want to restore to your server, along each recovery point's row you will see some icons as below

restore options

To browse the files in a restore point click the folder icon on the corresponding line folder icon

PLEASE NOTE! The cPanel accounts start in the home folder so to find them you will need to double click that folder to open it.

You will now see the file system of your server at the point the backup was taken, choose the files or folders you require restoring and click "Restore Selected"

You will then see the following box, please untick "Estimate Restore Size" and tick "Overwrite Existing Files" or your restore will fail. Unless of course you intend not to overwrite files if they still exist!

Then click "Restore"

restore your files

You will then see a window for the task and once it has run you should see the below.

You have successfully restored your files from a restore point!
