Convert Addon Domain to Account

This interface gives you the ability to convert an existing addon domain into a full cPanel Account. When you do this you will gain more control over the domains resources, such as databases, FTP accounts and SSH access.

Please be aware of the following if you intend to perform an Addon domain conversion;

You must have the "rearrange-accts" ACL to convert an addon domain into a cPanel account.
Due to the amount of data involved in the conversion, it is recommend that you make sure that you have triple the space required for the addon domain available before you begin the process.
It is strongly recommend you perform a backup of the original account who owns the addon domain that you intend to convert before you begin the conversion process.

Select an Addon Domain

The interface lists all of the available domians on the server as well as there owners. You can search by domain or owner using the serach function.

To convert an addon domain into an account, click on the "Convert" link (icon looks like a pair of scissors) which is found in the "Action" column.

Account Settings

This section allows you to set basic information for the account.

Username - Allows you to set the username for the account that you will create. By default, this is a generated username from the addon domain name.
Contact Email (optional) - Allows you to add the main contact email address for the new account. This email is used by the system to send notifications.
Package (optional) - The package associated with the new account. You can select from the available packages listed in the menu. For more information, read our Packages documentation.
Preserve Account Ownership - Select this checkbox to ensure that the reseller account that owned the addon domain will also own the new account. Note: This option is only available to root users.

The addon domain's new account will inherit the mailbox storage account of its original parent account. As an example, if the parent account used the maildir format, then the addon domain's account will use maildir format.
