How to Connect Via FTP?

In order to connect via to your server via an ftp you will first need to create an ftp account to connect through. This is done via cPanel and you can find more information about how to create an account here.

You will need to have some form of graphical FTP user interface installed on the system you wish to connect from, this is down to personal preference to which you use but some of our suggestions are;

For Windows:
FileZilla - https://filezilla-project.org/
CoreFTP - http://www.coreftp.com/
CuteFTP - http://www.cuteftp.com/

For MAC:
Cyberduck - https://cyberduck.io/

Connecting

Clicking on the Configure FTP Client option will show you the information that you require in order to connect via that account. In addition for some of the suggested clients there is additional information on how to connect.

connection instructions

These options will allow you to establish an unsecure ftp connection to your server's domain, however in some cases this may not work, if this is the case then replacing the FTP server address with your server hostname should resolve this. You can find your server's hostname in your signup email.

To establish a secure ftp connection you should use the server hostname this is because the SSL/TLS certificate relates to this. In addition you should change the configuration of your client to connect via secure connection
